Sleep
Across 16 prospective cohorts, habitual short sleep carries ~12% higher all-cause mortality and very long sleep ~30% (largely as a marker of illness). Newer UK Biobank work suggests sleep REGULARITY predicts mortality even more strongly than duration. Untreated sleep apnea — loud snoring, gasping — multiplies cardiovascular risk.
